Safety Guidelines

UNeedICan does not run background checks and does not verify who anyone is. You decide who to interact with, so it is worth taking a few simple precautions.

Before you choose someone

  • read the person's profile and their response carefully before you accept
  • ask questions in chat until you feel comfortable
  • trust your instincts, you never have to accept anyone

Keep the conversation here

Keep your first conversations inside UNeedICan where possible. It keeps a record of what was agreed and makes it easier to report a problem later.

Protect your information and your money

  • do not share your home address, financial details, or identity documents
  • be very cautious about sending money, deposits, or gift cards
  • UNeedICan does not process payments and cannot recover money sent off the platform
  • treat urgency, pressure, or an unusual payment method as a warning sign

Meeting in person

  • consider meeting somewhere public the first time
  • tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to be back
  • arrange your own transport so you can leave whenever you want
  • if something feels off, leave, you do not owe anyone an explanation

If something goes wrong

Report suspicious, abusive, or unsafe behaviour from the request page or the chat screen, and block the person if you do not want any further contact. You can also email support@uneedican.com.

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. UNeedICan cannot respond to emergencies.
