Privacy Policy

When you sign up with an email address and password we store your email address and a securely hashed password through our authentication provider. If you sign in with Google we receive your email address, your name, and a Google account identifier from Google. We never receive your Google password.

Your profile stores your name and, if you add them, a profile photo, a short bio, and a location you type yourself. It also stores your rating, review count, completed count, and the date your account was created.

We store the requests you post, including the title, description, category, budget, whether it is online or in person, the location text you enter, and any date and time you choose. We store the responses you send, and the messages and photo attachments you exchange in a private chat. We also store reports and blocks you create.

UNeedICan does not use GPS and does not access your device location. Location is only the free text you type on your profile or on a request.

Our hosting and database providers process standard technical data such as your IP address and browser user agent as part of delivering the service and keeping it secure. If the app hits an error, technical error details such as the error message and the page it happened on may be sent to our development platform so we can fix it. We do not run analytics, advertising, or cross site tracking.

UNeedICan runs on Lovable Cloud, which uses Supabase for the database, authentication, file storage, and realtime messaging, and Lovable hosting to serve the site. Google is involved only if you choose Google sign in. These are the only third parties that receive your data today.

Public to anyone visiting UNeedICan: your requests and their details, and your profile name, photo, bio, location text, and rating shown next to a request or response.

Private: your email address, your messages and their attachments, which are visible only to the two people in a conversation, your reports, and your blocks. A response you send is visible only to you and the person who posted the request. Database access rules enforce this.

We keep your information while your account exists. Deleting your account from your profile settings permanently deletes your profile, your requests, your responses, your conversations and messages, your uploaded files, and your login credentials. Reports you filed are kept without your identity attached so that safety issues can still be reviewed. Deletion cannot be undone.

You can edit or remove your profile details at any time, edit or cancel your requests, block another user, and delete your account. To request a copy of your data, or if you want help deleting it, contact us and we will respond.
